Prepare yourself for one of the most thrilling and realistic experiences in the world of simulated flight. The Hudson Miracle Package is no ordinary flight – it's an educational, emotional and adrenaline-fueled journey through a real-life event that forever changed the way we experience aviation.
Through four carefully crafted stages, you'll take on the role of a captain who must make crucial decisions under pressure – just like Captain “Sully” Sullenberger did in 2009. From your first steps in New York City airspace to the moment you have to decide where to land without an engine, each stage tests your composure, instincts, and decision-making skills.
🛫 Phase 1: Training flight over New York
To familiarize yourself with the controls and environment, the flight begins with a routine takeoff from LaGuardia and a school circuit around Manhattan. During this phase, you learn the basics of flying the Airbus A320, become familiar with the instruments, and gain a sense of direction in one of the most complex airspaces in the world.
⚠️ Phase 2: Reconstruction of US Airways Flight 1549
We enter the scenario that inspired this package. We simulate real-world conditions – both engines failing shortly after takeoff. With an advisor by your side, you attempt to replicate Captain Sullenberger's decision: to land safely on the Hudson River. Feel the pressure, the passage of time, and the battle against your own instincts.
🔄 Phase 3: What would you do?
At this stage you take the initiative. Same scenario, but this time without a guide. You try to analyze the situation and decide: try to return to the runway, look for another airport, or… Hudson? Experience what it means to make decisions when seconds matter.
🎧 Stage 4: Crash landing in the VR motion chair
Finally – total immersion. You relive the landing on the Hudson River, but this time in a motion VR chair. With the help of virtual reality and movement, you will feel every jolt, the impact on the water and the dramatic end of the flight. This is the moment when you forget that you are in a simulation.
📝 Note: This phase depends on the availability of a VR chair. In case a VR chair is not available, the last 10 minutes of the package continue in a fixed simulator, where you can try to recreate the Hudson Miracle once again or choose another airport and practice landing in challenging weather conditions – or a similar adventure of your choice.
